An absolute classic, Amanda. One of those movies that I can watch at any time. The small clip of Billy Crystal on the plane made me start laughing straight away
Interestingly, one of the books that Harry is reading the end of, in case he dies before finishing it, is Misery by Stephen King which was Reiner’s next movie
One of my all time favorites. This and "As Good as It Gets".
Love this piece. You nailed it. I can't believe the B story is so damn strong it could be its own movie. Sadly both actors are no longer with us. RIP Bruno Kirby & Carrie Fisher.
I saw it for the first time maybe a couple years ago, sometime during covid. My wife was shocked I had never seen it, I asked her what about my taste in movies would have made her think I had seen it. It was really good though, the story felt a lot more real than most romcoms.
That paragraph about Weekend at Bernie's and New York and romance is *excellent* writing. Thank you for sharing this.
🥹 thank you. That means a lot to me!

Ohhh I love this little Easter egg! Thank you for sharing it. 😀 😀😀

A classic that is now begging for a rewatch! And Billy Crystal with that beard is hot as hell, I will die on that hill. 😆
SO HOT
Great review! Can't help but think if they tried to make this today, it would DEFINITELY be in the neighborhood of two and a half hours.

Right?! They’d drag it out with about 2-3 “wacky” moments of confusion.

It is somehow both very romantic and whimsical but grounding. 🤌🏻 I am glad you enjoyed it!
I guess I will have to join Frank and watch this movie
Yes! Would love to know what you think.
