I'm crying just reading your review, Amanda!! This film effected me so deeply. The minute I finished it, I added a reminder in my phone: "It's your last day on earth". Now every morning I get a little digital nudge to live in the moment. This film quite literally changed my daily existence. Excellent film and outstanding review!
This got me thinking about we all probably have at least one person we wish we had spent more time with and one person we wish we had never met. For some of us it’s the same person, which is deeply confusing, heartbreaking, and bittersweet.
I am a straight, white male, and I cried, too. Having lost my mother recently, that part really hit me. And Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite actors and handles Old Ass beautifully. Great piece. Thanks for tackling this wonderful movie.

Ohhh I love that you set that reminder, so smart. This movie shook me and I am really happy to find out I am not alone!

Ooof yeah. Being human is so messy.
This was my favorite movies of last year, and I very much enjoyed your write-up of it. That is all.
Amazing - thank you as always for reading!
It was an odd movie to recommend to friends given the title.
Great movie. The ending fucked me up. 🥲
It's killer.
“...even older men have reported being “f— up over this movie in a good way.”
Yup, yup, yup. It is one of my favorite movies from last year. Caught me by surprise, knocking me on my old ass. Great write-up, Amanda.
Thanks so much! It really surprised me and it makes me happy to hear how many other people feel so strongly about it.
Great movie. Great essay. And thanks for the shout-out!
Hell yeah!
I loved how older Elliot was the one that ultimately needed to grow and learn from this.
Also noted the fact that neither actress looks like the other but it didn't matter.

Both points are so true. I need to listen to my inner 18-year-old more.
