At the end of every month, I’ll be sharing a round-up of everything I’ve been into for the last 30 days. This goes beyond just 90-minute pieces of cinema and dips into other obsessions that I think you may be obsessed with too. The images are linked.
What I’ve been reading…
Atomic Habits by James Clear is a non-fiction book in the self-help vein. I’ve always been keenly interested in how to become more efficient, how to accomplish more each day, and how to become the best version of myself. Habits breaks down how everything we do in life is essentially a habit, and so with that, we can change our lives through tiny, incremental changes.
What I’ve been watching…
The After Party on Apple+ is a comedy/murder mystery show that follows a story occurring on a single night after a Class of 2006 high school reunion. If you don’t know me that well, that’s my graduation year, so I was definitely already drawn to this for selfish reasons. My mom recommended it to me first and then when I finally checked out the cast, I jumped right in.
What I’ve been eating…
I ordered some lamb merguez sausage off of Fresh Direct one day weeks ago and I have never looked back. This spicy sausage goes great with grains and feta. It’s traditionally eaten in a tagine OR the French way which is on a baguette with french fries. I’d add this into your rotation if you’re sick of your beef-or-chicken lifestyle.
What I’ve been enjoying…
Knitting while watching trash television. Sometimes I need a break from using my brain, but just throwing on trash isn’t always as relaxing or entertaining as I’d like it to be. So for shows like The Real Housewives where I don’t need my eyes glued to every moment, I knit. I’ve been working on a giant scarf for like an entire year but having something to do with my hands rather than scrolling through my phone has been awesome. I got my kit from We Are Knitters.
What I’ve been listening to…
The Deck is the latest addition to the Audiochuck podcast family. Hosted by Ashley Flowers (from Crime Junkie), The Deck focuses on the cold cases of those featured on prison card decks that are passed around to inmates to generate leads.
